South Korean actress Jung Ho Yeon has ended her long-term relationship with actor Lee Dong Hwi, according to reports from South Korean media. A representative from Jung’s agency, Saerom Entertainment, confirmed the split, stating that the two have chosen to remain good friends. The couple, who went public with their relationship in 2016, were known for supporting each other throughout their successful careers.

Jung Ho Yeon gained international recognition for her role as Kang Sae-byeok in the hit Netflix series Squid Game. In the show, she portrayed a North Korean defector determined to win the deadly game to reunite her family. Meanwhile, Lee Dong Hwi is celebrated for his performances in films such as Cold Eyes, Tazza: The Hidden Card, Confidential Assignment, and New Year Blues. Throughout their time together, Lee had often spoken candidly about their relationship in interviews and variety shows.

Since her breakout role in Squid Game, Jung Ho Yeon has expanded her acting career, appearing in high-profile international projects. She recently starred in the psychological thriller Disclaimer, a miniseries written and directed by Alfonso Cuarón. Based on the novel by Renée Knight, the series features an impressive cast, including Cate Blanchett, Kevin Kline, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Alicia Vikander. The show premiered on Apple TV+ in October, following its debut at the 81st Venice International Film Festival.

Jung Ho Yeon is now preparing for her next major project, the science fiction thriller Hope, written and directed by Na Hong-jin. The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Hwang Jung-min, Zo In-sung, Alicia Vikander, and Michael Fassbender, and is expected to generate significant anticipation among fans of the genre.

Despite the end of her relationship with Lee Dong Hwi, Jung Ho Yeon continues to focus on her flourishing career and upcoming projects, cementing her status as one of South Korea’s most prominent actors on the global stage.
