The Delhi Police has recently arrested a 32-year-old woman for allegedly stealing gold jewelry worth lakhs from a social media influencer. The lady while taking pictures with him stole the jewellery said the officer on Thursday. The cops apprehended the woman with her husband from Manali in Himachal Pradesh and found gold ornaments weighing 100 grams which were recovered from her Haryana house, said the officer. However, the influencer took the help of the police alleging he was robbed by a woman who posed as a fan on social media. Deputy Commissioner of Police (south) Ankit Chauhan reportedly said that the woman insisted on meeting the complainant under the pretext of taking photos/videos with his expensive jewellery. The two decided to meet at his office in South Delhi’s Chattarpur and the woman asked him to wear his gold jewellery and pose for the camera. The social media influencer agreed to the request. The DCP told the agency that when the influencer was busy on a call, the woman ran with 100 grams of his gold ornaments. The cops also said that after checking the CCTV footage, the location of the woman was traced to Manali. Moreover, a 26-year-old man who aspired to be an influencer and content creator Vivek Kumar Gupta on social media was taken into custody for committing at least six burglaries.
