Damaris Ketrai Biography



Damaris Ketrai is a television actress from Kenya who has risen to fame and popularity as a result of her work on the Citizen TV local drama series, Zora.

Zora, which took the place of television program Maria, runs every weekday between 7:30 and 8 p.m.

She was born in the 1980s on the 22nd of April. Damaris grew up in Kisumu County, Kenya, and had spent a part of her adulthood there before relocating to Nairobi for work. She began performing in Sunday School plays and at school dramas when she was young.

In 2021, the actress announced her mother’s death on social media saying, “Rest in Peace mum. It has not been easy for me to post this here in social media but I had to, because I will not see you again. But your memories will be with us forever. Rest with angels mathee.”

Before Zora came about, she had acted in various films and which also contributed to her rise to prominence.

On Maisha Magic East, she’s acted on Hullabaloo, Inspekta Mwala, a royal media services TV show; Aunty Boss, on NTV; Kenda Imani and Vioja Mahakamani aired on Kenya Broadcasting Corporation.

She then landed a role as Aunt Loretta in Zora.

Aunt Loretta is a brave woman who does not hesitate to express her views. She is Oscar and Oliver’s elder sister, as well as Madiba and Kwame’s aunt.

She is also a motivational speaker and an MC, as well as a commercial model and content creator.


Damaris Ketrai is married and has two children, a son, and a daughter.
