At a recent event promoting his upcoming film Hamare Baarah, Annu Kapoor was asked to comment on the incident in which Kangana Ranaut was slapped by a CISF personnel. The incident happened at the Chandigarh airport. During the security check on June 6, Kangana Ranaut was left shocked as a CISF personnel slapped her because of her comments on farmer’s protest. A lot of celebs stood up and stated that violence is not acceptable. However, Annu Kapoor’s comment rather shocked many. Kangana Ranaut took to her social media account to share the clip of Annu Kapoor and penned about people disliking strong, successful and powerful women. Now, Annu Kapoor too has responded. He took to his X (formerly known as Twitter) account to pen a note on the same. He wrote, “I am responsible for what I Speak and I am Not responsible for what others understand. Jai Hind Vande Matram.” Along with this, he also wrote a note addressed to ‘Dear sister Kangana’. He added that he is trying to clarify some facts with his note and further wrote, “Every woman is respectable and worthy to me, so I can never disrespect any woman. Not knowing the system or laws of any country can lead to mistakes and punishment, but not knowing a particular person, place, or thing is not an error or a crime.” Stating this, he wrote that he does not know Kangana Ranaut and hence she should not include his remarks in the category of disrespecting women. In the end, Annu Kapoor did apologise to Kangana Ranaut in case his statements and remarks hurt her in anyway. He wished her well.
